Social isolation among seniors and students is a documented public health issue, yet existing digital solutions address one group or the other, never both. Knot is an intergenerational matching app that connects seniors and students through shared interests, turning a shared loneliness into a real human bond.

The name Knot was chosen for its meaning : a knot as a bond woven between two people.

I designed two distinct flows depending on the user profile (seniors post listings, students apply) to respect the natural dynamic of each group without forcing artificial symmetry.

The freemium model is asymmetric by design : fully free for students, freemium for seniors. This reduces activation friction on the student side while creating a viable business lever on the senior side.

The interface deliberately avoids dating app conventions (swipe, instant matching, aggressive push notifications) to avoid triggering wariness among seniors. The vocabulary is that of human encounter, not digital dating.
